A Ph.D holder from University of Wales, United Kingdom after graduating with a B.Sc. (1st Class Honours) from the University of Warwick. He serves with University Sains Malaysia for 22 years and is currently the Director of the Policy Research Centre. He is Professor of Operations Management and over the years, he has provided executive development programs for corporate bodies and public institutions such as Intel, Motorola, Solectron, Unico, Otis, Silitek, Matsushita, Amcor, FMM (Penang, Johore and Ipoh), PNB, IKIP, INTAN, MIA; in areas such as quality management, operations management, decision making and research methods. Prof. Muhamad has completed various consultancy projects. Amongst are Household Purchase Decision Making and Buying Style & Shift Work System and Shift Workers’ Behaviour for Sistem Televisyen Malaysia; and Manufacturing Strategy Priorities and Manufacturing Structure for Business Performance of the manufacturing sector in the Northern Malaysian States.
