Blossommm Pumpkin Pie
There are 3 stages in preparing Pie. First we need to prepare the shell, then the filling and finally to assemble the two. The recipe for the shell is called sugar paste, the filling is called Pumpkin Paste It is adviseable to prepare the Sugar Paste first and keep it cool in the chiller before use.
 
Ingredients for Sugar Paste
250 gm All purpose flour
125 gm Blossommm
1 tbsp Castor sugar
0.5 tsp Salt
1 Whole eggs
2 tbsp Fresh milk
 
Methods
1. Cream Blossommm and sugar. Add salt and egg.
2. Put in the flour alternately with milk. Briefly mix .Do not over beat.
3. Rest the dough for at least 2 hours.
4. Prepare pie tin. Grease it well. Roll the sugar paste to 5 mm. Spread it on the tin and slowly press it in. Remove the trimming of the paste. Leave it aside.
 
Ingredients for Pumpkin Paste
1 Fresh whole pumpkin
3 Whole eggs
100 gm Castor sugar
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Ingredients for Pumpkin Paste
1 tsp Cinnamon powder
100 ml Cream
 
Methods
1. Take the pumpkin. Peel and seeded. Cut it in a cube size and boil with salt until tender. Drain the pumpkin.
2. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend it until it forms a smooth paste.
How to assemble
1.
Pour the Pumpkin Paste in the casing.
2.
Bake at 175˚C for at least 30 minutes. If the casing has turned to golden brown remove from heat. Leave the pie to cool for 1 hour before removing it from the tin. Ready to serve
